Position Overview
The Director of Campus Ministry at the USC Caruso Catholic Center provides dynamic, visionary, and evangelical leadership that sets the tone for the campus ministry (CM) program. This individual prayerfully guides the CM program toward a unified and impactful vision, ensuring that all initiatives foster spiritual growth and discipleship among students. As a leader in the Catholic community at USC, the Director plays a crucial role in shaping the academic, spiritual, and vocational lives of students, faculty, and staff. An exceptional candidate will be deeply committed to living out the Catholic faith, possess a strong theological background, and demonstrate outstanding pastoral, communication, organizational, and leadership skills. The Director of Campus Ministry leads a dedicated team in providing mentorship, small group formation, retreats, evangelization efforts, faith development programs, service initiatives, and social gatherings that cultivate a vibrant Catholic presence on campus.
Primary Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Pastor and President to set and drive the vision for the campus ministry team, ensuring all efforts align with the Center’s mission and the spiritual needs of the USC Catholic community.
• Provide pastoral care, mentorship, discipleship formation to students, faculty, staff, and interns guiding them in their faith journey.
• Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with FOCUS missionaries, supporting the expansion of small group ministries.
• Train and support student leaders, including the Student Executive Board (President, Vice President, and Co-Chairs).
• Track and analyze ministry impact, utilizing tools like CCB to document student engagement and spiritual mentorship progress.
• Hold campus ministers accountable for excellence in their roles, providing annual evaluations and quarterly performance check-ins.
• Manage CM event scheduling and budgeting, ensuring efficient resource allocation and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with CM Staff in the grant writing process to support ministry growth and sustainability.
• Lead hiring and personnel decisions for campus ministry staff in partnership with the President and Pastor.
• Report quarterly to the Board of Advisors on the progress, impact, and strategic direction of campus ministry.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in theology, ministry, or a related field (or equivalent experience in ministry leadership).
• Deep commitment to the Catholic faith and alignment with the teachings of the Church.
• Strong leadership, pastoral, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to mentor students and cultivate leadership in young adults.
• Experience in budget management, program development, and staff supervision.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clergy, staff, and student leaders.
• Familiarity with various social media platforms and technology (such as Slack, Microsoft Suite) for effective program implementation.
• Familiarity with and appreciation for FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic College Students).

Wage Range: $85,000 - $105,000
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. We will consider several factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, and other departmental needs.
